Activity Tracking: Beyond Steps to Intensity and Consistency
Steps are easy to understand, but they are not the only measure of activity. Intensity, accumulated time, strength work and consistency also matter.
Build a complete view
Alongside steps, consider moderate-to-vigorous activity, breaks from sitting and muscle-strengthening work. The right starting point depends on individual ability.
Progress gradually
Begin with achievable goals and increase frequency, duration or intensity over time. Device data should support healthy habits, not create anxiety or override how you feel.
Adapt to your circumstances
People with chronic conditions, during pregnancy or with recent significant symptoms should seek professional guidance before making major increases in activity.
